All-rounder with a familiar feel
The PRS Custom 22 McCarty Sunburst Trem is a classic workhorse that's all PRS. The recipe is familiar: a mahogany body with a figured maple top, and a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard. The sound is therefore nice and firm, with the right amount of definition, including hints of brightness and warmth. The 58/15 humbuckers used offer warm mids and clarity, for a characteristic sound. Also very nice: the elements can be switched with a 5-way blade switch, so that you can also conjure up single-coil sounds. If you break a string, it can be replaced in no time, thanks to the locking tuners. Of course, a workhorse also needs a case.
