Incredibly beautiful McCarty 594 by Paul Reed Smith with 10-Top, Hybrid Hardware and a stained maple neck

We were stunned when we first saw this Paul Reed Smith McCarty 594 one piece. a maple neck in Cherry Charcoalburst. black fretboard. And then that incredibly beautiful figured maple top with the grade 10, or a 10-Top, with a beautiful oblique bookmatched drawing in the wood. In combination with the Hybrid Hardware and the aforementioned unique finish, this is a McCarty 594 to remember.

More about the McCarty 594:

Since its introduction a few years ago, the McCarty 594 has become a true classic within the PRS line-up. The guitar takes the second part of its name from its 24,594-inch scale length, and is inspired by vintage LP-style guitars from the 1950s. However - as befits PRS - this traditional formula has been given a new, more reliable and innovative look. Consider, for example, the 58/15 LT pickups that can be switched from humbucker to single coil via push/pull potentiometers for a wide range of beautiful, vintage-oriented tones. These Low Turn humbuckers have a somewhat milder output than most double-coil pickups, which produces an incredibly warm sound with just the right amount of definition. These pickups have always been insane, but thanks to the new TCI tuning, the split-coil settings sound even more convincing. In addition, the McCarty 594 is equipped with the special "pattern vintage" neck profile. This profile is a combination of the finest '50s necks, but has the unique feature that it ends asymmetrically. This means that the neck at the higher frets is slightly thicker on the bass side than on the treble side, so that the neck will lie comfortably in the hand over its entire length. And also underestimate the effect of the PRS Two-Piece Cast Zinc bridge. This bridge sounds a lot fuller than many TOM bridges, and therefore has a huge impact on the overall sound. The traditional combination of a mahogany body and neck, maple top and rosewood fingerboard completes the whole. As for the 2020 adjustments, the latest 594 models feature Vintage-Style tuners (no more locking tuners), the aforementioned CAB finish, and TCI-tuned pickups. In our opinion, these upgrades give the guitar an even more traditional feel, without compromising on the modern and reliable character of PRS. Totally awesome!

What is TCI?

TCI is an abbreviation for Tuned Capacitance and Inductance treatment . This way of fine tuning pickups originated during the design process of the Silver Sky, in collaboration with John Mayer. Both Paul Reed Smith and John Mayer were obsessed with recreating the Stratocaster single coils from the '63 to '65 as accurately as possible, with just the right balance of highs and lows. When a pickup is wound, the coils are also capacitors (capacitance), resistors and inductors (inductance) at the same time. Until now these three elements could not be influenced separately, but Paul Reed Smith has cracked the code to isolate and fine-tune these factors. Thanks to the TCI treatment, the pickups are now even better tuned to the guitar to produce the purest guitar sound to date. TCI is therefore more than just a new kind of pick-up, it is a completely innovative process. That process is now applied to all PRS pickups offered in the Core line, with the exception of some Signature models.
