Paul Reed Smith's Private Stock team is one of the most talented guitar building teams in the world. For years they have been providing proof that a guitar is or can be more than a number of pieces of wood with strings on it. Take this PRS Private Stock Custom 24 #8349 Northern Light Smoked as an example. This is simply a work of art. Unbelievable, what a beautiful copy. In our humble opinion, the absolute highlight of the guitar is the one piece Quilted Maple top. What a beautiful drawing, and this Quilted pattern comes out beautifully in combination with the now legendary Northern Lights Smoked finish. When you turn the guitar over you see - contrasting against the dark Quilted Maple top - the bright white Ash back, completed by the matching backplates. A time-consuming process for the Private Stock team, but it always looks cool. Add to this the beautiful Ebony fingerboard and Profiled Mahogany neck, and you already have an instrument that will keep you entertained for a lifetime. And yet the Private Stock takes it a step further with the Lapis bird inlay, also known as lapis lazuli. This blue gemstone has a beautiful appearance, with a strong spiritual appeal according to some... Special! Other specifications are the same as the Custom 24 we all know and love, such as 58/15LT pickups, a 25" scale, 24 frets and the 5-way switch with split-coil functionality.
