Taylor Builder's Edition 517th Grand Pacific
New Taylor body shape with V-Class Bracing: what a complete guitar!
This was another nice surprise at NAMM 2019! Taylor introduced a whole new Body Shape called the "Grand Pacific". We could best describe the shape as a Slope Shoulder Dreadnought, and the guitars look insane. The Taylor Builder's Edition 517e Grand Pacific has a beautiful Natural finish, and the solid Sitka Spruce (spruce) top comes into its own. The sides/back are made of Tropical Mahogany, which gives the guitar a particularly warm sound, and this is magnified by the Grand Pacific shape, which sounds grand without becoming undefined. Thanks to the V-Class Bracing, the projection of the guitar is unprecedented, and the instrument is completely balanced. Both high and low on the neck, every note counts and therefore comes into its own beautifully. The Mahogany neck with Ebony fingerboard feels comfortable, and the Expresion System 2 sounds great. Includes luxury case.
