Five-time Grammy winner Keb' Mo's third artist model: a 12-fret J-45 with thermally aged spruce top and 25-inch scale length
Keb' Mo' is one of the most versatile and lauded guitarists of his generation: five Grammys, a seemingly boundless mastery of blues, folk, soul, and Americana, and a unique guitar voice that is instantly recognizable. The Gibson Keb' Mo' "3.0" 12-Fret J-45 is the third artist model he has developed with Gibson, and it bears all the hallmarks of his personal playing style. The 12-fret neck joint and slightly longer 25-inch scale length give the guitar a fuller, rounder tone and more bass resonance, while the 12th-fret design improves playing comfort in the lower registers.
The thermally aged Sitka Spruce top sounds open and played-in right away, with the dynamics and harmonic richness that new tonewoods only achieve after years of use. The mahogany back and sides add warmth and focus to the sound. The LR Baggs VTC pickup with volume and tone controls in the soundhole makes the guitar ready for stage and studio straight out of the box.
The mahogany neck features Keb' Mo's personal profile with a rosewood fretboard, MOP dot inlays, and 19 frets. The Belly Down Closed Slot rosewood bridge, Grover Open Back tuners, and bone nut and saddle complete an instrument that reflects Keb' Mo's character in both construction and sound. Delivered with a Gibson hardshell case.
