The controls of the MXR 280 Vintage Bass Octave are very cleverly chosen. First of all, you can set 2 octave signals, namely a single octave and a double octave. With the mix control you can adjust your dry signal exactly to taste. The extra mid switch gives you an extra boost around 800Hz; perfect for blasting through the mix when things get a bit too squishy. Furthermore, an extra controller is hidden inside with which you can boost the output signal by up to 13dB.
