Gibson Custom 1959 ES-345 Reissue – Ebony Heavy Aged

The 1959 ES-345 Reissue from Gibson Custom Shop brings one of the most iconic semi-hollow guitars from the golden age of the 50s back to life. This version combines classic ES-345 luxury with modern Custom Shop precision and an impressive Murphy Lab Heavy Aged finish, giving the instrument the look and feel of a well-played vintage guitar.

The body is constructed from 3-ply maple/poplar/maple, which provides rich resonance with a clear attack and excellent sustain. The glued-in mahogany neck with an authentic 1959 C-profile offers a full, comfortable grip and a traditional playing experience. The rosewood fingerboard with characteristic split parallelogram inlays emphasizes the luxurious character that distinguishes the ES-345 from other ES models.

Two Custombucker humbuckers are responsible for the sound – pickups specially designed to reproduce the complexity and warmth of original PAF pickups from the late 50s. In combination with the classic 2 volume / 2 tone circuit and a 3-way pickup selector, this delivers a wide palette of vintage-inspired tones, from warm jazz sounds to dynamic blues and rock.

The Ebony nitrocellulose lacquer has been heavily aged by the craftsmen of the Murphy Lab, including subtle wear and patina on the hardware. This makes the guitar feel immediately familiar and authentic, as if it has been on stage for decades.
