Gibson Custom 1964 ES-345 Reissue VOS

The 1964 ES-345 Reissue VOS from the Gibson Custom Shop is a stylish reissue of one of the most luxurious semi-hollow models from the 1960s. In this version with a Pelham Blue finish, Varitone circuit, and Bigsby vibrato, this guitar combines classic looks with a characterful, versatile sound. The VOS finish (Vintage Original Spec) gives the instrument a subtle vintage look, with a lightly matte nitrocellulose lacquer that feels as if the guitar has been played for years.

The semi-hollow body is constructed from 3-ply maple/poplar/maple with a solid center block. This provides a perfect balance between resonance, sustain, and feedback control. The set mahogany neck with an authentic ’64 medium C-profile feels comfortable in the hand and offers the typical Gibson playing experience of the mid-1960s. The rosewood fingerboard with split parallelogram inlays and multi-ply binding underscore the luxurious character of the ES-345.

For its sound, this reissue is equipped with two Custombucker humbuckers, specifically designed to reproduce the warm, open tone of original PAF pickups from the late 1950s and early 1960s. The classic Varitone circuit offers six different tonal settings that allow you to easily switch between different frequency responses – ideal for players seeking extra tonality and character.

The addition of a Bigsby vibrato not only gives the guitar an iconic appearance but also allows for subtle vibrato effects for blues, jazz, and vintage rock.

The Pelham Blue VOS nitrocellulose finish gives this ES-345 a unique and timeless look, while the light aging and patina of the hardware give the impression of a well-maintained vintage instrument.
