More about the Paul's Guitar
You won't get much closer to the person Paul Reed Smith! The PRS Paul's Guitar is built entirely to Paul's personal preferences, and the Paul's Guitar is packed with all his favorite features. First of all, of course, the classic combination of a mahogany body with a beautiful Carved Figured Maple Top. The guitar that once inspired Paul to start building his own guitars was a Les Paul Junior with a wraparound bridge, and it is therefore not surprising that a PRS Stoptail wraparound bridge was chosen for the Paul's Guitar. This gives the guitar its own unique tone and feel compared to the other PRS models. In terms of elements, the new TCI pickups were chosen. These pickups give you the ability to effortlessly go from a strong, full bridge humbucking sound to a crystal clear and defined neck single-coil tone by using the mini toggle switches. And all this without signal, tone or extreme volume loss! The full humbucking sounds sound more like a full P90, and the single coil modes are almost reminiscent of a Fender single coil. Thanks to the TCI tuning, you really hear every note on this guitar as it should sound, and it delivers an almost acoustic quality. Unique. Also new is the CAB (nitro over cellulose) finish. This ensures that the wood of your PRS can breathe properly, without sacrificing the protective factor of the finish. Includes luxury case.
What is TCI?
TCI is an abbreviation for Tuned Capacitance and Inductance treatment . This way of fine-tuning pickups arose during the design process of the Silver Sky, in collaboration with John Mayer. Both Paul Reed Smith and John Mayer were obsessed with recreating the Stratocaster single coils from the '63 to '65 era as accurately as possible, with just the right balance of highs and lows. When a pickup is wound, the coils are also capacitors (capacitance), resistors and inductors (inductance). Until now, these three elements could not be influenced independently of each other, but Paul Reed Smith has cracked the code to isolate these factors and fine-tune them precisely. Thanks to the TCI treatment, the pickups are now even better matched to the guitar to produce the purest guitar sound to date. TCI is more than just a new type of pick-up, it is a completely innovative process. That process is now applied to all PRS pickups offered in the Core line, with the exception of some Signature models.
