The Epiphone Explorer Ebony brings back the boldest guitar design of 1958 for a new generation of players

When Gibson introduced the Explorer in 1958, the instrument's shape was so radical that the market wasn't ready for it. Only a handful of units were sold that year, but that scarcity made the original Explorer one of the most coveted vintage guitars in the world. Epiphone brings the design back in the Inspired by Gibson collection: the same sharp angles, the same aggressive look, and the same mahogany construction, at a price that makes the instrument accessible to anyone who has always wanted to play the Explorer.

The ProBucker 2 in the neck and the ProBucker 3 in the bridge are Epiphone's most faithful interpretation of the original PAF humbuckers: warm, open, and dynamic in the neck, with a little more output and presence in the bridge. CTS electronics ensure an honest signal path that doesn't color the tone of the pickups. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge provides stable intonation and direct tone transfer.

Mahogany body in the iconic Explorer shape, mahogany Slim Taper neck, laurel fretboard with Dot inlays and 22 frets on a 24.75" scale, Grover Mini 18:1 tuners and nickel hardware, Ebony gloss finish. An instrument that looks like it belongs on any stage.

The Explorer Ebony is for the guitarist who knows that sometimes the boldest choice is the best choice.
