The Epiphone 1962 ES-335 Reissue Vintage Burst that combines the same historical accuracy as the Sixties Cherry with a sunburst that maximally emphasizes the warmth of the maple weave
The 1962 ES-335 is the model year that connoisseurs recognize by three details: the rounded cutaways, the small block inlays, and the SlimTaper C-neck. These are the details that distinguish this model year from the ES-335s before and after it, and which Epiphone, in collaboration with Gibson Custom, has accurately reproduced. In Vintage Burst, the five-ply maple body gets its warmest appearance: an amber-yellow burst gradient that accentuates the wood's structure and immediately identifies the instrument as a classic.
The Gibson USA Custombuckers are hand-wired with CTS potentiometers and Black Beauty paper-in-oil capacitors, giving the instrument a warm, transparent tonal character that matches the wide musical application of the ES-335. From clean jazz to overdriven blues-rock: the instrument responds honestly to attack variations and the guitar's own volume. The ABR-1 bridge and the aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece are the period-correct hardware for this model year.
Semi-hollow 5-ply maple/poplar body with solid maple centerblock in Vintage Burst, mahogany neck with SlimTaper C-profile, rosewood fretboard with MOP small block inlays and 22 frets on a 24.75" scale, Epiphone Deluxe Double Ring tuners, ABR-1 bridge and aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece. Includes vintage-style hardshell case with Goldenrod interior.
The 1962 ES-335 Reissue Vintage Burst is for the guitarist who wants the best of 1962, with the richest color the wood can give them.
