The Epiphone Kirk Hammett Greeny 1959 Les Paul Standard with the same Gibson USA Greenybucker pickups as the original
Few guitars have such a mysterious allure as Greeny. The 1959 Les Paul Standard passed through the hands of Peter Green, Gary Moore, and Kirk Hammett, leaving an indelible mark on the playing and tone of all three. Greeny's unique character lies partly in the reversed magnetic polarity of the neck pickup, which produces an instantly recognizable out-of-phase sound in the middle switch position. Epiphone has meticulously reproduced this peculiarity in collaboration with the Gibson Custom Shop.
The Gibson USA Greenybuckers are the pickups specially developed for this model. The neck pickup is reverse-mounted with reversed polarity, just like the original. In combination with the 50s wiring, CTS potentiometers, and Mallory capacitors, the volume and tone potentiometers react in a way that makes the interaction with your amplifier lively and dynamic. The AAA flame maple veneer top in Greeny Burst gives the instrument the typical coloring of the original: a distinct yellow-green burst that feels uniquely authentic on a Les Paul.
Mahogany body with maple top, mahogany neck in Vintage 50s profile, Indian Laurel fretboard with Acrylic Trapezoid inlays and 22 frets on a 24.75" scale length. Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons, Epiphone ABR bridge, and nickel hardware. Includes vintage-style brown and pink hardshell case and limited edition metal toggle switchplate.
The Kirk Hammett Greeny 1959 Les Paul Standard is for the guitarist who wants to hold the story of three legends in their hands.
