The Epiphone Les Paul Special TV Yellow combining the raw immediacy of a P-90 with the iconic look of the Special
In the 1950s, the Les Paul Special was intended as a no-nonsense instrument: a flat mahogany body without a maple top, two P-90 single coils, and a wraparound bridge. No frills, just tone. The Epiphone Les Paul Special in TV Yellow brings that philosophy back in the most classic color ever to appear on this model, with two P-90 Pro Soapbar pickups that fully embody the rawer, more direct character of the Special.
The P-90 Pro Soapbar pickups have their own tonal character that lies somewhere between a humbucker and a true single coil: fuller than a Strat pickup, sharper and more aggressive than a PAF humbucker. They sound great clean, and through an overdriven amp, they deliver the bite and presence that have made the Les Paul Special famous among generations of blues and rock guitarists.
The mahogany body and mahogany neck with a Vintage 50s profile give the guitar a substantial, warm foundation. An Indian Laurel fretboard with Dot inlays, 22 frets on a 24.75" scale, and a Lightning Bar wraparound bridge complete an instrument that is pure in its design and convincing in its execution. TV Yellow vintage-style tuners with ivory buttons round off the vintage aesthetic.
The Les Paul Special TV Yellow is for the guitarist who knows that simplicity and character go hand in hand.
