At the beginning of the 20th century, Gibson pioneered the development of small-body guitars with its L-Series models. Introduced in the early 1930s, the L-00 became the standard among small-body acoustic guitars. These compact models, often called “parlor guitars” because they were frequently played in living rooms and parlors, were already known in the 1934 Gibson catalog for their “perfect balance” – a tone that is clear, warm, and exceptionally well-balanced.

The Epiphone L-00 Standard authentically continues that legacy in a high-quality, yet accessible version. Developed by Epiphone in collaboration with Gibson Acoustic, this model is constructed entirely from solid tonewoods, allowing its sound to develop and deepen as the guitar ages. The solid mahogany back and sides are combined with a solid spruce top, resulting in a beautifully balanced tone that is excellently suited for both strumming and fingerstyle. Especially fans of country, folk, blues, and Americana will immediately feel at home with the direct, open, and dynamic character of this guitar.

The one-piece mahogany neck has a comfortable Rounded C-profile and is attached to the body with a traditional, glued tapered dovetail joint for optimal resonance and sustain. The fretboard features 19 frets with subtle mother-of-pearl dot inlays, perfectly matching the understated, vintage character of the model. The popular 60s Kalamazoo headstock is equipped with a bone nut and high-quality Grover Mini Rotomatic tuning machines for stable and accurate tuning. The rectangular rosewood bridge with a bone saddle and ivory-colored bridge pins contributes to clear tone transfer and reliable performance.

For modern usability, the L-00 Standard is equipped with Fishman electronics, including an S-Core undersaddle pickup and a Fishman Presys VT preamp with volume and tone controls discreetly placed in the soundhole.
