Periphery's Mark Holcomb still has one of the coolest SE Signature models, now with Seymour Duncan Pickups!
The PRS Guitars SE Mark Holcomb Holcomb Blue Burst (2026) is a modern signature guitar uncompromisingly designed for the demanding guitarist. Developed in collaboration with Mark Holcomb of Periphery, this model focuses on tight definition, powerful output, and optimal playing comfort, perfect for progressive metal and other modern styles.
The guitar features a mahogany body with a beautiful quilted maple veneer, providing a warm, full foundation with ample clarity and attack. The Wide Thin maple neck with a satin finish feels fast and smooth, while the 20” radius ebony fretboard with 24 frets guarantees effortless bends, low action, and maximum precision across the entire length of the neck. Thanks to the 25.5” scale length, string tension remains tight and defined, ideal for lower tunings such as Drop C.
Electronically, this SE is equipped with Holcomb's signature Seymour Duncan "Scourge" (bridge) and "Scarlet" (neck) humbuckers. These pickups deliver a powerful, tight low-end, pronounced mids, and crystal-clear highs without getting muddy at high gain settings. With the push/pull tone control, you can easily switch to coil-split sounds, making sparkling, more single-coil-like tones readily available.
The fixed PRS plate-style string-through bridge in combination with PRS-designed tuners ensures excellent tuning stability and long sustain. The striking Holcomb Blue Burst finish with black chrome hardware gives this guitar a modern, professional look that impresses both on stage and in the studio.
In short, the PRS SE Mark Holcomb is a versatile, neatly finished signature guitar with a distinct character – built for guitarists looking for definition, power, and reliability in one instrument.
