The ES-335 embodying the speed and style of the early sixties
The Gibson ES-335 60s is the choice for the guitarist who prefers the sleek elegance of the early sixties over the full warmth of the late fifties. Where the 50s version feels imposing, the 60s is subtle and fast, an instrument that invites you to play and never stop.
The semi-hollow thinline body of three-ply maple, poplar, and maple offers the same resonant foundation as its sibling, with the solid maple center block keeping feedback in check and extending sustain. The tone is shaped by a pair of calibrated T-Type humbuckers with Alnico 5 magnets, reproducing the characteristic sound of vintage Gibson T-Top humbuckers: clear, articulate, and with a slight edge that is excellently suited for blues, rock, and jazz. The hand-wired 500k volume and tone potentiometers and the three-way switch give you complete control over your sound.
The mahogany neck features the distinctive SlimTaper profile of the early sixties: slimmer and faster than the Rounded C of the 50s, ideal for players who prefer a smooth, comfortable grip. The bound rosewood fretboard has 22 medium jumbo frets with small block inlays in acrylic, a direct visual characteristic of the classic 60s ES-335. Grover Rotomatic tuners with milk bottle knobs and a Graph Tech nut ensure reliable tuning stability. The ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece complete the hardware picture. The five-ply 60s-style pickguard and black Top Hat knobs with reflectors give the instrument its unmistakable sixties look. Finished in Sixties Cherry gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, delivered with a Gibson hardshell case.
The ES-335 60s is for the player who wants speed, style, and vintage tone in one instrument.
