Walrus Audio Qi Etherealizer: Yvette Young's Signature Pedal for Ambient, Glitch, and Magic
The Walrus Audio Qi Etherealizer was developed in collaboration with Yvette Young, known for her math-rock project Covet and her exploratory fingerstyle technique. The pedal combines chorus, delay, granular effects, and reverb in one stereo multi-effects enclosure, powered by Walrus Audio's proprietary MDSP chip for maximum headroom and a superior signal-to-noise ratio. The Qi is built for guitarists who want to go beyond conventional effects.
The granular section is the heart of the Qi: Grain Cloud triggers random grain samples for glitchy, unpredictable textures, while Phrase Sample captures rhythmic grains from the peaks of your playing. Five playback modes (Normal, Double-Speed, Half-Speed, Reverse, Random) give the granular section a life of its own. Chorus offers Tri Chorus and Stereo Chorus. Delay is a clean digital delay with up to 2 seconds of repeats. The Space knob adds reverb from intimate spaces to expansive dreamscapes. Series and parallel modes determine how the effects interact. Grain-Freeze and Delay oscillation are available as latching and momentary functions.
The Qi features stereo I/O, TRS MIDI 1/8" in and thru, USB-C for firmware updates, and storage for 3 presets (up to 127 via MIDI). Powered by 9V DC (300 mA). Designed and assembled in the USA. Terracotta finish with original artwork by Yvette Young.
