The DSM Humboldt Black Clouds keeps high gain tight and shapeable

From solid crunch to pronounced high gain: the DSM Humboldt Black Clouds gives you plenty of control over how your distortion responds. The Pre Tone control determines how much low and high end enters the drive circuit before it even reaches it. Turn it clockwise for less low end and more high end, useful for tight, percussive riffs. Counter-clockwise, you get more body for full, sustaining lines.

With the Pre Boost, you add up to 30 dB of input signal, with a slight emphasis on the midrange. This allows you to push the gain and compression further when you use the boost. If you want to cut through the mix, the Master Boost offers up to 20 dB of clean volume boost. It even works when the distortion circuit is bypassed, so you can also use it as a standalone clean boost. The passive X-Gate cuts off quiet passages instantly and adds crossover distortion for an extra gritty texture.

Gain controls the distortion and Level the output volume. The three-band EQ offers Bass below 300 Hz (±10 dB), Mids between 300 Hz and 2 kHz (±12 dB), and Treble above 2 kHz (±15 dB). This way, you can tune this DSM Humboldt distortion to your pickups, your amplifier, and the space you want to occupy in the mix. Discover how many different directions you can take with Black Clouds.
