The 12-string Telecaster that makes Troy Van Leeuwen's atmospheric guitar work tangible

Troy Van Leeuwen has written his own page in alt-rock history with Queens of the Stone Age, A Perfect Circle, and Failure. His playing combines texture, atmosphere, and raw power in a way few guitarists can emulate. The Squier Paranormal Troy Van Leeuwen Telecaster XII is built for those who take that approach seriously: a full-fledged 12-string Telecaster in a striking Copper Age finish, with the familiar bite of a Tele and the harmonic richness only a 12-string can offer.

The 12 strings add a shimmering layer to every chord and riff. The dual resonance creates that distinctive jangle sound that is wide but never muddy, bright but never thin. Two Fender Designed Alnico Single-Coil pickups give the guitar a characteristic Telecaster tone with enough clarity and definition to cut through a mix, while the 3-position blade switch provides maximum flexibility between bridge, neck, and both positions.

The body is made of Nyatoh, a tonewood with a warm tonal balance similar to mahogany, finished in gloss polyurethane. The maple neck has a comfortable C-shape and a satin finish, supported by an Indian Laurel fretboard with a 9.5" radius and 21 narrow tall frets. The scale length is the classic 25.5", the nut is 1.6875" wide for comfortable 12-string playability. The specially designed Telecaster XII bridge with top-load/string-through option, vintage-style tuning machines, and a 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard complete the picture.

For those who want to explore the sonic possibilities of a 12-string without compromising the familiar Telecaster feel, this guitar is a revelation.
