The 594 formula, but in the S2 series.. What an incredibly good PRS guitar this is!
Beautiful S2 McCarty 594 Single Cut in a Custom Color. The maple top on this guitar is also particularly beautiful. Just like the Core version, the S2 variant is equipped with the Pattern Vintage neck profile and a maple top. Thanks to the slightly thicker body than is normally common for a PRS, the 594 has an incredible amount of sustain and a super thick tone. The S2 McCarty 594 therefore feels like coming home, as if the guitar has been played in for years. Absolutely amazing! In terms of hardware, a Two-Piece Bridge made of zinc and Vintage Style, non-locking tuners were chosen. In this way, the S2 McCarty 594 remains true to its vintage spirit. Just like with the Core 594, we find the widely known - and praised - 58/15 "S" pickups on the S2 McCarty 594. In our humble opinion, these elements are among the very best new pickups that can be found on the current market. These humbuckers deliver a warm yet defined, vintage-correct tone that is reminiscent of the golden age of the P.A.F. pickup.
The core of the McCarty 594 is a versatile, vintage-inspired instrument that delivers both thick humbucking sounds and natural single-coil sounds. Due to the 24.594" scale length, which is slightly shorter than usual on LP-inspired guitars, the guitar is extremely comfortable to play. The strings feel almost like butter! We have been able to feel and hear on the Core and Private Stock models what a cool sound and great playability that delivers, and believe us: that is certainly also the case with the new S2 versions. The best of all? PRS packages these features in a modern, reliable jacket so that you can step on stage anywhere, anytime, with peace of mind without suffering from annoying issues that some old guitars are known for. Just as befits Paul Reed Smith!
