Walrus Audio Mantle: Analog Bass DI with Sapphire Transformers for Studio and Stage

The Walrus Audio Mantle is an analog bass DI and preamp built for bassists who take their sound seriously. At the heart of the Mantle are Sapphire transformers: premium transformers that add analog warmth and magnetic saturation that digital emulation cannot match. With 11 gain stages, you can sculpt the exact bass tone you need, from subtle body to a significant dose of grit. The Mantle responds intuitively and directly, without latency or coloration.

The balanced XLR output sends your transformed signal to a mixer or interface, ideal for both studio recordings and live use in professional environments. The 1/4" instrument input is buffered via a high-quality JFET stage that preserves the impedance and character of your bass. A separate 1/4" output allows you to simultaneously drive an amplifier or other pedals. The internal voltage increase to +24V provides enormous headroom and a clean, authoritative bass sound even at high gain settings.

The Mantle features a 1/4" TS Hi-Z input, a 1/4" TS output, and a balanced XLR output. Controls include Bass, Gain, and Treble. Powered by 9V DC center-negative (500 mA), internally boosted to +24V. Compact enough for your pedalboard, robust enough for any gig.
