sE Electronics VR-1 Voodoo Ribbon

An affordable full range Ribbon microphone, unique! the sE Electronics VR-1 Ribbon

Ribbon mics have a distinct character that makes them popular for certain situations. For example, these types of microphones work very well to convincingly record the bite of your guitar. Previously it was difficult to record a wide frequency range with a ribbon mic, until sE Electronics, together with Rupert Neve, designed the RNR1 Ribbon microphone that picks up the full spectrum from 20Hz to 20kHz. This resulted in the VR series of which this VR1 mic is part. This is therefore the first budget-friendly ribbon mic that picks up such a large frequency range, and is therefore very versatile. This VR1 mic has become very popular for drum overheads and for guitar amplifiers. The result is a very true-to-life reproduction with a delicious bite. and due to the compact housing, the mic is also easy to place in the right position.
