The Classic S line from Suhr combines the best of two eras. These S-type guitars have the same feel, mojo and sound as old models from the fifties and sixties. At the same time, John Suhr and his close-knit team have designed the series to be as reliable, pure and stable as possible. This way, even the most demanding guitarist can enjoy those recognizable, classic sounds and feel without any problems! The Classic S Antique models lean even further towards the previous century with their less hot pickups, nitrocellulose lacquer and firmer neck profile.

"Your New Old Friend", is how John Suhr himself describes his Classic S Antique line. We couldn't have come up with a better slogan, because these guitars really feel and sound from the first minute of playing as if you've been playing them daily for years. This starts with the nitrocellulose lacquer and the very tasteful aging, as well as the inviting Vintage Medium C neck profile. This is a neck that feels like it has already made itself completely to your hand. Plug the guitar in and you are embraced by its balanced and clear sounds, made possible by the V63 Singlecoils. These are somewhat more modest in output than the V60 elements that you find in the regular Classic S models. But as John himself said: the Antique S is also your new friend. Modern upgrades, starting with the unique SSCII noise cancelling system. This frees your single coils from that nasty 60-cycle hum. Ideal for recordings or performances, and that without batteries! In addition, your guitar will stay in tune incredibly well thanks to the Tusq top nut and Locking Tuners, even when you give the tremolo a good going over; this has been carefully designed by Gotoh. It should be clear; this Classic S is a very complete mix between old and new!
