The NAMM 2024 Custom that proves walnut and cedar together tell a unique story

The Taylor C14ce Custom GA is not a standard production catalog guitar. This particular instrument was specially built for NAMM 2024, combining a Californian design philosophy with wood combinations rarely seen together: East Indian walnut for the back and sides, and a cedar soundboard that radiates warmth and character from the very first note. For the connoisseur who makes conscious choices and knows why.

Cedar responds faster than spruce, giving this guitar an immediate, warm response that is particularly well-suited for fingerstyle playing and light strumming. Walnut adds a clear, defined midrange with a subtle shimmer in the high registers. Together, they create a sound that is both intimate and projecting, with a dynamic range that responds to the player. The Grand Auditorium shape provides a balance between body and playability, both seated and standing.

Under the hood, you'll find Taylor's proprietary Expression System 2 pickup, which faithfully reproduces the guitar's acoustic properties on stage. The guitar features a Venetian cutaway for access to higher positions, a bound fingerboard, and Taylor's proven intermediate neck profile that plays comfortably for long sessions. The finish is clean and consistent, as you would expect from a Custom instrument.

This is a unique NAMM piece with a story, character, and sound you won't find in a standard catalog.
