The Bourgeois OM that sounds like it's been played for twenty years
Dana Bourgeois builds guitars that guitarists never want to give up. The OM Aged Tone Tiger Myrtle is a prime example: a handmade acoustic guitar from the workshop in Lewiston, Maine, where every detail serves one purpose—to produce the most vibrant, most layered tone a new guitar can produce.
The secret lies in the Aged Tone treatment of the Adirondack spruce soundboard. Bourgeois applies a proprietary process that opens the cellular structure of the wood, causing the guitar to respond with the suppleness and warmth normally only achieved after decades of playing. Combine that with the Tiger Myrtle back and sides—a wood known for its rich midrange, clear highs, and striking figuring—and you have an instrument that impresses both visually and acoustically. The OM size offers the perfect balance: enough projection for fingerstyle, enough articulation for flatpicking.
The neck is made of mahogany with an ebony fretboard, featuring 20 frets and abalone diamonds and arrows inlays. The Waverly tuning machines with ebony buttons ensure stable tuning and a classic look. The ebony belly bridge and thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish allow the wood to resonate maximally. No pickup—this guitar is purely acoustic, and that's exactly how it should be.
This is a guitar for the player who knows what they're looking for and is willing to invest in something that will last a lifetime.
