This Special 22 in Walnut Natural Satin is a compelling example of this: a guitar where every detail, from the figured mahogany body to the walnut top with curly maple binding, attests to an obsessive eye for quality.

The combination of three pickups — two 58/MT humbuckers and a Narrowfield in the middle position — gives this guitar an exceptionally broad tonal palette. The 58/MT delivers the warm, full PAF tone PRS is known for, while the Narrowfield adds a clear, single-coil-like sound that makes the guitar versatile for a variety of styles. The 5-way switch and two mini-toggles provide complete control over every combination. The satin nitro finish allows the wood to breathe and gives the guitar an organic, lively feel under the hands.

The walnut neck with Brazilian rosewood (with Cites) fretboard and Pattern profile plays comfortably and fast, with a 25" scale length and 10" radius that strikes a balance between vintage playability and modern precision. The Gold MOP Birds inlays with MOP outlines are a hallmark of the Private Stock line and give the instrument its unmistakable identity.
