The Epiphone Les Paul that gets Gibson pickups and thereby transcends its own class
The Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue is no ordinary Epiphone. Where most guitars in this segment get their own pickups, Epiphone opts for two real Gibson Custombucker humbuckers, unpotted and tuned to the characteristic tone of a late 50s Les Paul. This makes this instrument one of the most serious Les Paul reissues you can find for this budget.
The sound is full, warm, and dynamic, with the typical Les Paul bite in the bridge and a rich, round neck position. The mahogany body with AAA Flame Maple top provides the resonance and sustain you expect from a Les Paul, while the Deep Cherry Sunburst finish beautifully highlights the flame figuring of the veneer. The 1959 Rounded Medium C neck feels immediately familiar to those accustomed to vintage Gibson profiles.
The rosewood fretboard has Mother-of-Pearl trapezoid inlays and a 12" radius over 22 frets, with a 24.75" scale length. The hardware consists of an ABR-1 Tune-o-Matic bridge, Epiphone Deluxe Single Ring tuners with Keystone buttons, and the classic 2-volume/2-tone electronics with 3-way switch. Delivered with hardshell case. On sale from €1,399 to €1,199.
