The spruce-top parlor that combines brightness and warmth in one thinline body
With the Highway Parlor Spruce, Fender has built an acoustic guitar that turns your expectations about parlor guitars upside down. The thinline chambered mahogany body is compact enough for hours of comfortable playing, but the solid Sitka spruce top adds a dimension you wouldn't expect from an instrument of this size: brightness, dynamics, and a responsiveness that directly reacts to every nuance in your playing.
Where the mahogany version prioritizes warmth and roundness, the spruce top brings more air and definition to the sound. Chords sound open and articulate, fingerpicking is sharply defined. Amplified via the Fishman Fluence Acoustic pickup, that character remains intact: the Fluence Core reproduces the acoustic tone with an honesty and clarity that far surpasses the average built-in system. No piezo harshness, but a sound image that does justice to the guitar.
The construction is identical to the rest of the Highway Series: tapered floating X-bracing for maximum resonance within the slim thinline design, a walnut fretboard with a C-profile neck and 12" radius, 20 frets on a 628mm scale, and chrome die-cast tuners. The walnut bridge completes the picture with a neutral, transparent tonal contribution that gives the spruce top all the room it needs.
For the guitarist who wants to combine the brightness of spruce with the comfort of a parlor: the Fender Highway Parlor Spruce delivers on both fronts.
