The Gibson Custom 1959 ES-345 Reissue Ebony Murphy Lab Heavy Aged combines the luxury of the ES-345 with the pronounced aging of the Murphy Lab Heavy Aged treatment. The ES-345 distinguishes itself from the ES-335 by its split parallelogram inlays, the Varitone switch, and the higher quality of finish, and the Ebony finish gives this example a dark, formal appearance that contrasts sharply with the raw wear of the Heavy Aged treatment. That tension is what makes this instrument so fascinating.

The 3-ply maple/poplar/maple body provides rich resonance with a clear attack and excellent sustain. The mahogany neck with an authentic 1959 C-profile offers a full, comfortable grip and a traditional playing experience. The rosewood fingerboard with split parallelogram inlays emphasizes its luxurious character. The two Custombucker humbuckers are designed to reproduce the complexity and warmth of original late 1950s PAF pickups: from warm jazz tones to dynamic blues and rock.
