The Black Beauty in its purest form: the '57 Les Paul Custom Reissue with solid mahogany body and ebony fingerboard
With its elegant binding, the combination of black lacquer, ebony fingerboard, and mother-of-pearl inlays, the Gibson '57 Les Paul Custom, also known as the "Black Beauty," is one of the most iconic models of this legendary brand. The body is made from a single piece of solid mahogany, which was unique within the Les Paul lineup at the time. The result is a dark, mid-focused sound that is perfectly balanced with the bright-sounding ebony fingerboard. This guitar exudes craftsmanship.
The two Custombucker Alnico III pickups deliver the authentic PAF sound of 1957: warm, open, and dynamic, with a rich midrange that is perfect for blues, jazz, and rock. The VOS nitrocellulose lacquer gives the guitar a subtle vintage patina, while the gold hardware completes the elegance of the Black Beauty. The Chunky C-Shape neck feels familiar in hand and gives the guitar that extra vintage mojo.
Specs: one-piece solid mahogany body, mahogany neck with Chunky C-Shape, solid ebony fingerboard with 1950s pattern Mother of Pearl inlays, 22 frets, No-Wire ABR-1 bridge with lightweight aluminum stop bar, Kluson Waffleback tuners with pearloid tips, gold hardware, and paper-in-oil capacitors. Delivered in a Brown/Pink Lifton Reissue 5-latch case.
Black, gold, ebony. The Black Beauty as it was intended in 1957.
