The '64 ES-335 Reissue in Sixties Cherry: the classic color on the most accurately reproduced ES model
The Gibson Custom Shop 1964 ES-335 Reissue Sixties Cherry VOS is the result of a year of studying, scanning, and listening to original examples. The craftsmen at the Gibson Custom Shop have accurately reproduced every contour, every profile, every inlay, and every color of the priceless vintage models. The sharp horn cutaways, the Medium C-Shape neck profile scanned from originals, the small block inlays, and the vintage-replica parts: this is the '64 ES-335 as it was built in 1964.
The Sixties Cherry finish in VOS nitrocellulose lacquer is the most iconic color for the ES-335: bright, warm, and unmistakable. The two Custombucker Alnico 3 humbuckers, unpotted and tuned to PAF specifications, deliver a dynamic sound with rich midrange and a transparency rarely found in modern guitars. The 3-ply maple/poplar/maple body with a center block gives the guitar that characteristic mix of resonance and sustain.
Specs: mahogany neck with Authentic '64 Medium C-Shape, Indian Rosewood fretboard with small block cellulose nitrate inlays, 22 frets, ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, Kluson Single Line Double Ring tuners, lightly aged nickel hardware and paper-in-oil capacitors. Delivered in a Black/Yellow Custom Shop hardshell case.
Sixties Cherry, '64 specs, Custom Shop precision. The ES-335 in its most classic appearance.
