A piece of Japanese guitar history: the 1975 Ibanez 2351m in original condition
From the heyday of Japanese guitar building comes this 1975 Ibanez 2351m. The so-called "lawsuit era" produced instruments that have since built their own reputation, separate from the major American brands that inspired them at the time. This 2351m is a semi-hollow electric guitar that, after fifty years, still shows why Japanese guitars from that period are so beloved by collectors and players.
The sound of the 2351m is warm and full, with the characteristic resonance you'd expect from a semi-hollow body. The pickups provide a clear, slightly vintage character with enough body for blues, jazz, and rock. The touch sensitivity is surprisingly good for a guitar almost fifty years old: play softly and you get warmth, play harder and character and life emerge in the sound.
The guitar features a double-cutaway semi-hollow body, two humbuckers, and a tune-o-matic style bridge with stop-tail. The neck plays comfortably with a profile typical of Japanese guitars from the seventies: not too thick, not too thin. The electronics function properly. As a vintage instrument, it bears signs of use, which only adds to the authenticity and story of this piece of guitar history.
For the enthusiast of vintage Japanese guitars or the player looking for an instrument with character and history: the 1975 Ibanez 2351m is a rare find.
