PRS NF53 McCarty Tobacco Sunburst PRE ORDER

What started with one of Paul Reed Smith's favorite vintage guitars now results in a brand new PRS model: the NF53. "NF" for Narrowfield Pickups, "53" for 1953, the year of manufacture of that vintage guitar.

The PRS NF53 combines the sound and attitude of classic T-style guitars with PRS' signature eye for detail and modern, thoughtful design. The body of the NF53 is made of swamp ash, a type of wood that, with its bright, clear sound, is a perfect match for a guitar with this slant. This also applies to the screwed maple neck, which is also extremely stable and feels great in the hand thanks to the Pattern 53 neck profile.

A set of Narrowfield DD elements was chosen for the pickups of the PRS NF53. “DD” stands for Deep Dish, which refers to the deeper bobbins that make room for more turns. The result is a more focused, powerful sound. The most striking thing about these pickups is that they are humbuckers in everything - except tone! The NF53 has a fierceness and openness that you would only expect from a set of high-quality single coils. The advantage of these Narrowfields is that they do not hum with overdrive, and they do not pick up 60-cycle hum.

The PRS NF53 also features a punchy, direct-sounding Plate Style bridge with two saddles, PRS Vintage Style tuners with a new knob design and chic bird inlays. Each NF53 comes with a matching PRS Gigbag.
