The brand, known worldwide for its compact, powerful bass amplifiers, has directly translated that knowledge of tone and dynamics into an instrument. The low B string opens up a whole new register, and the Gloxy Black does it with a neck that immediately feels familiar, even if you're used to four strings.

The sound of the five-string Gloxy is full and defined across the entire range. The low B sounds tight and controlled, without the muddiness that cheaper five-string basses sometimes have. The two Markbass JJ single-coil pickups give you a bright, present tone in the bridge position, while the neck position sounds warmer and rounder. The active Markbass 3-band EQ allows you to fine-tune every register, and the passive mode is always available if you want a purer sound.

The Poplar body is light and comfortable, the Maple neck has a C-profile with a Laurel fretboard and block inlays across 20 frets on a 34" scale length.
