East Indian Rosewood and Adirondack Spruce with the Soul of a Played-in Instrument
The Martin 000-16 StreetMaster isn't a guitar that pretends to be old — it's built to look and sound the part. Martin has applied the beloved StreetMaster finish, known from the solid mahogany 15 series, for the first time to a combination of East Indian rosewood and Adirondack spruce. The result is an instrument that radiates the warmth and character of a vintage guitar, without the uncertainties that come with it.
The sound of the 000-16 StreetMaster is richer and fuller than its weathered appearance suggests. East Indian rosewood gives the tone a deep, layered resonance with clear highs, while the Adirondack spruce top — treated with Martin's patented VINTAGE TONE SYSTEM® (VTS) — responds with an immediacy and dynamics normally found only in decades-old instruments. The 000-body ensures a balanced midrange that excellently supports both fingerpicking and strumming.
The guitar is equipped with an Adirondack spruce top with VTS treatment, East Indian rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck with a modified low-oval profile, and an ebony fingerboard and bridge. The satin finish with intentional aging details gives the instrument its distinctive street-ready look. Delivered with a softshell case.
For the guitarist seeking an instrument with the soul of a played-in masterpiece and the reliability of a new Martin — this is it.
