The Suhr Classic S Antique that plays and sounds like Vintage Yellow looks: like ripe sunshine
The Suhr Classic S Antique is not just any S-type guitar. While the regular Classic S is already close to the spirit of the 1950s and 1960s, the Antique line goes a step further. Nitrocellulose lacquer, less hot pickups, a fuller neck profile: this is an instrument that, from the first note, makes you feel like it has been in your hands for ten years. The Vintage Yellow finish further enhances that feeling. Warm, organic, and timeless.
The sound of the Classic S Antique is defined by three V63 single-coils, Suhr's interpretation of the more modest, more dynamic pickups from the early sixties. They sound open and layered, with a bright top end that never cuts and a midrange that gives you presence in any mix. The SSCII noise cancelling system keeps hum out, without sacrificing any of the vintage character. The Gotoh 510 tremolo with steel block gives the guitar a smooth arm response and excellent tuning stability, even with intensive use.
The body is made of Alder, the neck of Extra Tinted Maple with an Indian Rosewood fretboard and a 60's C Vintage Medium profile (.830"-.950") that feels comfortable and robust in the hand. The 9"-12" compound radius makes both chord playing and solos effortless. The 22 Medium Stainless Steel frets (.055"x.090") will last a lifetime without wear. Suhr locking tuners ensure stable tuning, scale 25.5", weight 3.55 kg, including gigbag.
For those who take the vintage feel seriously, without compromising on reliability or playing pleasure, this Classic S Antique in Vintage Yellow is exactly what it should be.
