The Signature Guitar that Captures Ian Thornley's V-Profile and Aldrich Humbuckers in Sonic White
The Suhr Ian Thornley Classic S Antique Sonic White is the signature guitar of Canadian rock guitarist Ian Thornley, built in close collaboration with Suhr. The Sonic White finish in nitrocellulose lacquer with light aging gives the instrument a vintage look that immediately stands out, while the Alder body and Roasted Maple neck provide a warm, stable foundation. This is a guitar that not only looks good but also sounds exactly how Thornley wants it.
The Roasted Maple neck with Roasted Maple fretboard and Ian Thornley V-profile (.875"-.970") is deliberately thicker than the standard Suhr neck, providing a full grip ideal for Thornley's playing style. The 16" flat radius and 22 Jumbo Stainless Steel frets make bends smooth and intonation accurate in high playing positions. Two Aldrich humbuckers and a V63+ single coil in the middle via a 5-way switch with volume and tone. The 2-Post tremolo and Suhr locking tuners ensure stable tuning. Weight 3.52 kg, scale 25.5", hardcase included.
The Aldrich humbucker is one of the most powerful pickups in the Suhr lineup, designed for a full, aggressive rock sound with a tight low end and a pronounced attack. In combination with the V63+ single coil in the middle, the 5-way switch also provides access to warmer, more layered tones, making the guitar more versatile than you might initially expect.
