Only 1974 pieces worldwide: the Builder's Edition 814ce celebrating Taylor's fiftieth anniversary with Sinker Redwood and an unforgettable Kona Edgeburst
In 1974, Bob Taylor built his first guitar. Fifty years later, the brand celebrates this with an instrument that brings together everything that made Taylor great: the 50th Anniversary Builder's Edition 814ce. Only 1974 pieces were built, one for each year of its existence. A solid Sinker Redwood top, Solid Indian Rosewood back and sides, a beautiful gloss Kona Edgeburst finish, and details that unmistakably mark this instrument as an anniversary model.
Sinker Redwood is a rare wood species: centuries-old logs that have lain on riverbeds for decades, developing a unique density and warmth. Combined with Indian Rosewood, this produces a rich and balanced sound, with the sparkle and deep bass of rosewood complemented by the subtle warmth of the Sinker Redwood top. The V-Class bracing ensures perfect intonation and a long-sustaining resonance. The comfortable armrest and beveled cutaway are characteristic of the Builder's Edition line.
The details complete this instrument: a Mother of Pearl logo on the headstock, 800 Series mother-of-pearl element inlays on the Crelicam Ebony fretboard, an abalone rosette, and premium Gotoh 510 Antique Gold tuners with a 21:1 ratio. The Expression System 2 pickup accurately translates the acoustic sound for amplified playing. Delivered with a Taylor Deluxe Hardshell case.
The Taylor 50th Anniversary Builder's Edition 814ce is a collector's item that also wants to be played. With only 1974 copies worldwide, this is an opportunity that will not be repeated.
