Hawaiian Koa and torrefied Sitka in a Super Auditorium: Taylor's Gold Label at its Finest
The Taylor Gold Label 814e KOA is an instrument that brings two worlds together: the warm, vocal-like tone of solid Hawaiian Koa and the open, played-in response of a torrefied Sitka Spruce top. The Gold Label Series is Taylor's homage to pre-war guitar building of the 1930s, translated into a modern instrument with contemporary playability and the highest build quality Taylor offers. The Super Auditorium body is slightly larger and deeper than the classic Grand Auditorium, providing extra resonance and a fuller bass response.
Hawaiian Koa has a character that is difficult to describe without having heard it: warm in the midrange, clear in the highs, with a complex spectrum of overtones that becomes richer with every hour of playing. The torrefied Sitka Spruce top enhances that character by offering an open, dynamic response from day one that normally takes years of playing to achieve. The fanned V-Class bracing ensures excellent intonation, wide sustain, and a balanced tone across the entire register.
The Action Control Neck allows for precise string height adjustment without extensive modifications, keeping the 814e KOA comfortably playable for years. The LR Baggs Element VTC pickup delivers a warm, natural amplified sound that leaves the acoustic qualities completely intact. The guitar comes with a deluxe hardshell case.
The Taylor Gold Label 814e KOA is for the guitarist who seeks the best of both worlds: the visual and tonal beauty of Koa, combined with Taylor's most modern construction and playing technology.
