Mahogany warmth in a slope-shoulder body: the Gold Label 517e for the player seeking focus

The Taylor Gold Label 517e is a Grand Pacific guitar that combines the warmth and directness of mahogany with the open response of a torrefied Sitka Spruce top. The Gold Label Series is Taylor's tribute to the pre-war guitar building of the 1930s, and the slope-shoulder Grand Pacific body perfectly fits that philosophy: a round, full sound with a character that feels direct and focused, without the breadth of a Dreadnought or the precision of a Grand Auditorium.

Mahogany back and sides give the 517e a strongly pronounced midrange that brings out voice and melody. Combined with the torrefied Sitka Spruce top, which has a played-in, warm character from day one, it creates a sound that works particularly well for singer-songwriters and players who want to accompany themselves. The fanned V-Class bracing ensures excellent intonation, wide sustain, and a balanced tone across the entire register.

The Action Control Neck allows for precise string height adjustment without extensive modifications. The LR Baggs Element VTC pickup delivers a warm, natural amplified sound. The guitar comes with a deluxe hardshell case.

The Taylor Gold Label 517e is for the guitarist seeking an instrument with character, focus, and a tone that communicates directly, built on the legacy of the great pre-war guitars.
