The Taylor Gold Label 717e Blacktop combines the deep, round tone of the Deep Grand Pacific body with a stylish Blacktop finish that also visually sets this instrument apart. The Gold Label Series is Taylor's tribute to the great slope-shoulder guitars of the 1930s, and the 717e goes a step further with an extra deep body for even more bass response, resonance, and projection. The torrefied Sitka Spruce top offers an open, played-in character from the first moment.

Indian Rosewood back and sides give the 717e Blacktop full basses, sparkling highs, and a complex spectrum of overtones. The extra body depth of the Deep Grand Pacific body further enhances this: there is more air volume, more resonance, and more low-end punch than with a standard Grand Pacific.
