Walrus Audio MAKO D1: five delay characters, stereo I/O, and presets in an all-capable pedal
The MAKO D1 is Walrus Audio's flagship delay pedal and the first pedal in the MAKO series. Where many delay pedals opt for one or two sound modes, the D1 offers five fundamentally different delay types, each with its own character and dynamics. Combined with stereo inputs and outputs, tap tempo, preset storage, and an in-depth Tweak knob per mode, the D1 is one of the most complete delay pedals in its price range.
The five modes cover the full spectrum: Digital for crystal-clear, rhythmic echoes; Mod for unpredictable, modulated warble via random LFOs; Vintage for a warm, authentic echo with adjustable tone and age; Dual for two parallel delays with different time divisions, particularly inspiring in stereo; and Reverse for reversed echo effects. The Attack knob determines how hard or soft the echoes start, allowing for soft, blending soundscapes with longer repeats. Subdivisions are adjustable to 1/4, 1/8, and dotted 1/8.
The D1 features stereo I/O (2x 1/4" input, 2x 1/4" output), tap tempo footswitch, preset storage, and is powered by 9V DC (minimum 300 mA). Dimensions: 4.9" x 2.52" x 2.64". Use of an isolated power supply is recommended.
